Many eye doctors are recommending dry eye supplement such as flaxseed oil and fish oil for their patients who suffer from dry eyes.
Daily supplements of flaxseed oil or fish oil appears to reduce dry eye symptoms, including burning, stinging, redness and intermittent visual disturbances. Omega 3 with a very high EPA concentration acting as anti-inflammatory are very helpful to manage dry eyes symptoms. If you have dry eyes, blepharitis and/or Sjogren’s, do not under estimate the benefits of omega 3.
Remember that a person who suffers from dry eye must consume much more omega 3 daily in comparison with a normal person. Also, be aware that essential fatty acids such as omega 3 can not be synthesized by the human body. We must therefore think to include in our diet. Omega 3 are found in fish (mackerel, sardines, salmon, tuna, herring, trout), and flaxseed oils, canola, soybeans and walnuts.
